What is the next step

Obviously our leaders are running out of bullets. Unless interest rates go negative, that move is almost done. They have thrown cash out the helicopter at the poor (fed stimulus). They have taken all the bad loans onto their own balance sheet (TAF, etc). What is next?

I need some reason to be long gold. My simple mind cannot produce any more positive catalysts than what has already taken place. When the government starts throwing cash out the window, seemingly you have made the right call by owning gold. Now it is back under what I sold it for. I am feeling pretty naked not being in gold.
